Can I use a 12v 5 amp battery for my alarm system instead of the 12v 4 amp?
Is it safe to use the battery with higher amps (5) to replace the 4 amp original?
Yes, you can. 
The company I work for actually installs 12v 7ah in all their security systems so a 12v 5ah won't hurt it.
