i like the first one because the second one reminds me of going on a hike, but you aren't really going on a hike to school (well.. you may, haha)
the first one is nice because first: its a really pretty blue, and the design is sick. i <3 plaid, and so does a lot of other people. i think the second one is just too plain. hope i helped
