Calling all Punta Cana All Inclusive Vacationers... Can you offer any tips?

I will be heading down there in a week and staying at the Majestic Elegance Club. Anyone who has been to this island before, can you offer any tips? I'm taking US cash, should I take Pesos as well? Can you pay for excursions with VISA? Any thing specific you think I should be bringing?

Also, is there going to be anything like an ATM anywhere?
I have been to third world countries before. I'm staying at an all inclusive so I don't really plan on leaving the resort other than for excursions. Thanks!
I Picked Punta Cana for the beaches. No plans really to go outside the resort other than for the two excursions we already picked. I fully intend to just lay on the beach and relax for 10 days. Not really looking to explore.

The hotels/tours take credit cards but be sure to call your credit card company to let them know you will be out of the country and that you will be using them there. They usually block international transactions due to so much fraud going on. We also took about $100 in singles and gave them to the bell boys, drivers, bar, wait staff etc. A few dollars are really appreciated and you will get better service. Although most everyone speaks English, I took a Spanish/English dictionary. Whatever you do, don't forget any sunscreen, femme products, over the counter drugs, any toiletries, etc. The prices for those things in the resort are about 4-5 times as much. Don't drink the tap water.
