What's the difference on SKB cases, ATA cases and Anvil Cases?
What's the difference on SKB cases, ATA cases and Anvil Cases?
SKB Cases are plastic molded cases. I believe they are compliant with Cat 3 ATA cases which allows for ten round trips. The ATA says a case should be able to make 100 round trips. ATA is the Airline Transport Authority. Some Anvil Cases are ATA compliant and some are not. Any case that is ATA approved should be able to make 100 round trips. A proper case should be constructed with the appropriate wood for the weight. The wood is laminated with ABS plastic or fiberglass. It is assembled with steel ball corners, recessed latches and handles. It is assembled with split steel rivets. I hope this helps.
