What are the laws on selling designer inspired handbags?

When I go on vacation I always see people selling designer handbag knockoffs. I want to set up shop and sell some but want to make sure its legal. I would of course tell people they are not the real thing, just inspired to look like the expensive ones.
Also, where could I order lots of these purses?

Selling "any" counterfeit item in the US is illegal, even if you tell people they aren't real you're still violating the laws in the US. However, as long as the purses don't have the same logo, name, etc. it can be sold. To order similar purses try putting words like "inspired by handbags" "designer handbags" and so forth.
