Can I throw a garment travel bag with a bike frame and wheels in it into the airplane checkout ?
I will be traveling to europe this year and wanted to bring my bike along for the ride.
Most airlines will transport your bike for little money if you pack it properly in a bike box and hand it in at check in, you will have to book for your bike well in advance normally.
But I am sure that no airline will transport bikes in a garment bag, certainly not as part of your carry on luggage.
Traveling in Europe with a bike is well possible, but it has to be the reason of your travel, not an afterthought. You can take bikes on trains often, but not always and it is an hassle. Not worth it if you only want to use your bike every now and again.
But you would certainly not be the only one traveling Europe by bike.
