How to keep black grout from dying my travertine?
I finally decided on the tile and the grout for my back splash. After countless hours at tile stores. Well its black grout and tan/brownish and WHITE travertine! I didn't think anything of it till I was reading something about grout dying ceramic tiles!!
Is there something I can do to seal the travertine or something so I dont dye it grey or some odd color when I'm grouting?

For a travertine backsplash I'd advise against black grout. It will really accentuate every imperfection in the tiles, and in you setting of them (your groutlines need to be absolutely perfect and consistany in size)
If you really are dead set on that color, seal the travertine with an impregnating sealer. I like 511. Blue bottle, home depot carries it. 1 small bottle will seal your backsplash several times over. do 2 nice coats following directions, then grout, then seal once more after grout has cured (3 days after grouting) so you don't mess up the groutlines with dirt/oil and make a mess every time you wipe the backsplash down.
