How do I pick the right laptop computer?
I'm looking to purchase a laptop computer. Just me and the wife will be using it(no kids allowed) Just your basic home entertainment use, not for work. I dont want to buy more than i need, but I also want it to be able to perform anything I ask it to do. Any suggestions on how to go about narrowing the list?
From working in retail, I've heard this question a lot of times. Always check the specs. If your not sure what they are, a quick Wikipedia search or howstuffworks will quickly make you an expert on the subject.
Go to computer stores, and ask lots of questions, but mainly opinions. Tell the person at the stores you visit what you will use it for, and what they would purchase in that situation. Read reviews on models that you like see if they are all you are lead to believe they are. From my experience, the most reliable manufacturers are Toshiba, Lenovo, Asus and Apple.
From what you describe, I think a basic Macbook Pro 13" would be more than enough. They are easy to use, they have tons of home entertainment software installed, and are immune to all PC viruses with very little maintenance needed.
