Large Duffel

Which is better, a large or small Vera Bradley duffel bag?
I need a duffel bag that I can take to camp, and also take on vacation with me (I think both can be used as a carry-on). I like large bags, but I'm scared that the large duffel will be TOO big. So if anyone has used both- or just one, please let me know what you think about the size. Thanks!
PS- I'm also pretty short (5' 1") and I wonder if the straps on the large duffel will be too long for me 
i have a large one and its perfect. it fits everything you need. i take it with me every time i go somewhere. the smaller one is just that, smaller. and the straps are a good size. i dont think you'll have any problems with them. i can fit about a weeks worth of clothes in mine. great investment. and very stylish.
