McKlein VS Samsonite?
What do you guys think? The price difference isn't much, so forget the price and focus on the cases;
McKlein;

The McKlein is better
1) The Samsonite is Bonded leather made from pieces and reformed. The McKlein is full grain and top grain leather which is a higher grade.
2) The handle of the McKlein is a 2 layer with better stitching. The Samsonite is one layer and stitched for looks more than wear.
3) The samsonite "feet" are cheaper than the McKlein
4) The attaching points at the rivets for the hinge look better on the McKlein
5) Although McKlein "gold Finish" hardware does not say brass, the Samsonite is clearly a cheap steel nickel plate.
Although the Samsonite is Expandable, that usually wears on the loose leather. It does have a 3 year warranty.
CORRECTION: BOTH EXPANDABLE - THE MECHANISM AND FIT IS TIGHTER FOR THE MCKLEIN. IT IS NEARLY INVISIBLE
Bottom line, Leather is the most important and Samsonite cheaped out. Samsonite is designed to "look" tighter, but the McKlein seems to be made of superior materials. I prefer substance over superficial.
PS - If McKlein is bought, buy a leather oil. It is totally real tanned leather and not plasti-sheened surface. Also add: Don't overload the McKlein front pockets. They used a single piece of top grain inside. Samsonite used pre-formed and glued as stronger but faked a little for the pretty.

Bonded leather, or "reconstituted Leather", is composed of 90% to 100% leather fibers (often scrap from leather tanneries or leather workshops) bonded together with latex binders to create a look and feel similar to that of leather at a fraction of the cost. This bonded leather is not as durable as other leathers and is recommended for use only if the product will be used infrequently
