Ive been taking Lexapro for 8 months and now want Cymbalta.. HELP PLEASE!!?
Ive been on 10mg lexapro for about 6 mths for depreasion and it has been helping me a lot but the last few months I have been feeling very flat and.tired, and everytime I get the lexapro its.50 co-pay after.my insurance approved it. I went to the dr.s today and she gave.me.cymbalta 30mgs for a wk and then 60 after.that. She said.it will not make me.tired and to take it in the am but I did a little research and found a lot of bad things about cymbalta, lime aide effects ( weight loas,dry mouth, fatigue). and on lexapro I havent expierenced any side effects honestly.juat being very sluggish n flat. Now im scared to start tomrw and idk what to do at this point 
. Plz help me some1 who has been in my shoes??? Im very scared at this pt and think I shld jyst pay the $ n stick it out rather then set myself up for disaster with this new med?
It's up to you. I can tell you that withdrawal effects are common coming off an SSRI. And some doctors aren't good about dealing with that. In addition, starting on a new antidepressant can also add additional side effects from that. So that's one thing to take into consideration when trying to make a decision.
Ideally when coming off an antidepressant it's best to taper off dosage slowly over at least a two week period. Sometimes that's not really feasible, though.
