Questions about MH and CO airline, LAX airport and luggages.?
Hi, I'm a student from Malaysia. I'm about to go for my further study in Houston, Texas next week, so that's mean I'm going to travel far. I will travel with Malaysia Airline from Kuala Lumpur to L.A. and by Continental Airline to Houston. I have some questions that I would like to ask:
1) I heard that we are not allow to lock our check-in luggages, is that true and why? I worry about losing my stuffs.
2) Will they remove my hair gels from my CHECKED-IN luggages?
3) Can I check-in my bags to Houston when I'm in Kuala Lumpur? If not, Is there a transit passenger luggages belt at the arrival hall in LAX?
4) Do they took long to check me at the immigration since I'm a foreign passenger?... I think they will be very very very strict...
This is my first time travel half a globe all by myself, I really hope that I can travel safe and comfort... I appreciate your helping, thanks.

NO locks, unless they are approved TSA locks:

Not likely.

Need to check with MA, as it seems there is no "inter-line" agreement between MA and CO.
In any case, you will have, NO matter what retrieve your luggage in LAX to go through Customs. After that you put your luggage again on the appropiate belt. A representative will be there to assist you.

Depends, you should be more worry as to how many people are going through the same process as LAX is a busy airport as the hub from ASIA-Pacific.
