Mach Speed

why can you just put airspeeds in kn (i.e. 250kn / 330kn) in the FMC Legs constraints, why not mach speeds?
I am not sure which FMC you are referring to, however I can say for sure that they deal with absolute values, not ratios. Mach numbers are mostly for aerodynamic considerations while for flight performance computations you need to have absolute units. FMCs do compute leg times, ETA's and all, its not possible to do the same with mach numbers. At Mach 0.7 you could be doing anything from 430 to 460 knots depending on the ambience.
