MSN messenger, red slash?
On MSN, people have been having a hard time adding me & I don't show up on their buddy list. So I added myself to see what would happen, and next to my name there is a red slash through the green square next to my own name. None of the other buddies have the red slash, but no one is appearing as "online" on my list, when I know they are online. I've checked my privacy settings, no one is blocked. Is there anything I can do to fix this?

1--log on MSN
-right click on a contact's name
-click on BLOCK (even if you want to UNBLOCK sb, you have to click on BLOCK)
-then an alert pops up asking you if you want to UNBLOCK the contact
-click on YES
the thing is that it is the SAME option to BLOCK and UNBLOCK..this is so confusing

-log on MSN
-tools
-options
-PRIVACY
-click on BLOCKED
-then right click on a contact's name/mail
-select MOVE TO ALLOWED or UNBLOCK
-do this to all your blocked contacts
-finally click on DONE
Delete the Messenger Contacts Cache folder

➘1. Show (unhide) hidden files and folders:
a. Click Start, and then click My Computer.
b. In the new window, click the Organize drop-down list, and then select the Folder and Search options check box.
c. In the Folder options window, click the View tab.
d. Make sure that the Show hidden files and folders check box is selected.
e. Click Ok, and then close the window.
➘2. Delete the contact store:
a. Click Start, and then click Computer.
b. Locate the following folder:
C:UsersWindows_log-on_nameContacts
Messenger_e-mail_address
c. Delete all the files that are in this folder.
d. Locate and open the following folder:
C:UsersWindows_log-on_nameLocal Settings
Application DataMicrosoftWindows Live Contacts
e. Delete all the folders that are in this folder, including the hidden folders.
f. Close the window, and then try signing in to Windows Live Messenger.
