Backpacking guide pay?
Just been looking at different jobs opportunities as a guide and o can't find a straight answer on what pay is like for a full time guide, most what I've seen is "expirence" based. Currently I hold certs as a emt-b, wfr, along with several courses via the military, and working on several other courses. (water and swift water rescue Padi rescue diving, and taking the pacific northwest trail lead course from nols) I also have 10+ years backpacking and rockclimbing. Any information is a great help. Thanks.
Good question, never got paid for all the people I've led astray I mean out the deep end, no I mean off a cliff, dang no I mean hiking out there LOL, no seriously in experience based terms I would suppose once you gain some letters of recommendation and have actual guide service the pay per trip will rise significantly. I would not even consider hiring someone without references and letters of recommend. Doing this kind of work has to be a passion at first there won't be much money in it till you gain that reputation.Keep plugging at it, sounds like your on the right track
