can i turn a regular bread recipe into rolls just by changing the shape and cooking time?
ive made plenty of fresh loafs of bread. i usually make braided herb bread. it is made from just base ingredients, no mixes or anything so dont get the wrong idea here, im talking about real bread.
now, my question is this... can i just use the normal recipe i have memorized for braided herb bread, but rather than braiding it into loafs, cut it into smaller pieces, roll them into balls, let them rise again, then cook them, and have them come out as rolls? or do rolls require a different recipe completely due to them being much smaller? i figure id have to change the cooking time, but thats about it. will it work?
Vulture, perhaps, but you have to be careful. What kind of rolls would you want to make out of your existing ways of making breads--dinner rolls, rye rolls, or wheat rolls?
