What format should I see James Cameron's Avatar in? 3d or Imax 3d?
I am really excited about Avatar and want my first experience to be amazing. Should I see it in regular 3d or Imax 3d first? I really hate the yellow 3d glasses and I like the black ones that were handed out with Up 3d better. Will the black ones work for the Imax 3d? I was thinking about going to see it at Pointe Orlando's Imax theater as this is the biggest one around here. Thoughts?
IMAX 3D!!! for the giant screen and the total immersive feeling.
RealD 3D has a higher frame rate than IMAX so the motion is supposedly smoother. They also have good sound system and better 3D glasses. But they don't have their own dedicated screen!!! They just show it on the biggest screen they have in a movie theater. And watching 3D on one of those tiny screens is like watching a pop-up greeting card! IT'S BEYOND ANNOYING!!! So everybody went to IMAX.
For people in Southern California, don't go to the Burbank IMAX. I was told the screen is only slightly bigger than a regular screen. It's a fake IMAX. Come to the Irvine Spectrum IMAX. That's a real IMAX screen.
