what was your favorite store at a mall that isnt there any more?
there is a mall down town san diego that used to have a rand mcnally store- a place i would get a map. and a borders store which is now a small book store
Lots of places--the local mall at my end's gone downhill along with the rest of my hometown--but I shall confine it to two.
--I miss the old Waldenbooks. Granted, I didn't buy as many books there as I looked at, but I did buy some books there. Some books and some magazines. But I guess too many people looked and didn't buy, or I didn't buy often enough to suit the managers, something. The place went out of business and hasn't come back--hasn't been replaced either.
--Then there was the old CaramelCorn place. Popcorn was their main thing but they did all sorts of cheap snacks, somehow. I was always fond of snagging some cheap chocolate soft-serve in a fresh waffle-cone there. I'd top it off myself with some M&M candies from a nearby coin-op candy machine (rather like a gumball machine). These people always did seem to do at least fair-to-middling business--but it's a mall, and I guess you have to be pricey and snobby to survive the mall.
But yeah, if this teaches me anything, it teaches me that I'm apparently too poor and/or ugly to openly like anything--If _I like something_, people go out of their way to take it all away. Not even kidding. o_o
