Hot roller disaster please help?
Ok I'm african american with relaxed hair....I tried to use the conair wave maker hot rollers(you know like the first generation hot rollers) well my hair didn't spiral curl at all. I followed a you tube video exactly the way the woman did it and my hair did not spiral and the parts that did fell flat after 5 sec. What did i do wrong? Are there special hot rollers black women have to use? Maybe the hot rollers weren't hot enough(there is no temp setting it the one roller just turns blue when ready).? It is kinda old (like 5 yrs) so maybe i need to buy a new hot roller set? Someone plz help me
What brand of hotrollers would you guys suggest think cheap like 30 dollars tops
do they make hot rollers for black hair? I have the length(shoulder) its just the rollers bc some parts did spiral they just fell
that the strange thing when i curl my hair with a flat iron its fine its just when i try with the hot rollers to do a spiral curl is when it becomes a disaster.
I'm AA too and when I had a relaxer my hair would not hold curls without setting lotion. I think you should go to a salon and let them do it but, ask them a lot of questions like what they used on your hair. That way you can probably duplicate the look that the salon gave you. My hair is nappy but, when I go to the salon I get them to deal with it and some times I write down the names of the products they use while they aren't looking. I found out that my stylist only uses Keracare products on my hair and then presses it with hot comb, then curls it and I can now do it at home just as good as they do it in the salon. I think you should invest in a good full head hair dryer, some hard plastic hair rollers like they use in the salons and some Motions or any other brand foaming setting/wrap lotion and use all of those things at the same time.
