locking up suitcases?

I just bought 2 TSA approved suitcase locks for my suitcases....is it really neccasary? i am so afraid i am going to lose the keys?
i am flying to boston

It depends on where you are going. My family and I went out of the country a few months after Sept 11th and all the new regulations. Many things were stolen from our onlocked luggage. I personally have a lock and use it no matter where I go.
