Fixing a hole in my jeans without a sewing machine?
I have a hole in my jeans right along the seam on the back side, almost between my legs. I don't have a sewing machine at college, nor do I have any idea how to use one, so I've been using a traveling sewing kit. I tried sewing it together once, it failed. I tried again, first cutting the frayed edges and totally over stitching it, and it still failed. Is there anything I can do? I don't have an iron, as I've heard there are some things you can iron on. I heard you can buy fabric patches or something like that from the store? Thanks
yes, you can go to wal mart (which is probably cheaper) and buy the jean repair patch. They come in different shades, but I do believe that most of them are iron ons, but you could probably stitch them on too. It frayed because jeans are put together in strips...it's really hard to fix it that way by hand without a machine. I'd go with the iron on and just borrow an iron or buy a cheap one.
