I have Sony Laptop and the fan is loud and it starts frequently ..what should I do ? ?

This Sony Vaio VGN-FJ170B Centrino XP Laptop was fine when I bought it, now the fancooling starts working every 15 - 20 seconds !! I think this is not normal, it bothers me ..this happens frequently whenevr my laptop is on.. it's too much .. and my laptop gets warmer too !!

Is it because of RAM 512 MB? if I use 1GB Ram will that fan work normally? or is it cuz I'm using universal adaptor ? I lost my Sony adaptor and I got this universal one, it worked good

My lost Sony adaptor power was 19.5V

It's because your laptop is full of dust that is obstructing the cooling.

Send it in to get it cleaned out (that'll involve taking the computer apart).

The RAM won't make a difference (except in performance, but 512 MiB should be enough for XP) and if the universal adapter is supplying approximately what the computer needs (19 V should be close enough) then that would be fine.
