Why do people break in to other peoples cars?

Someone broke into my car and stole my new cd player and my wallet,credit cards, drivers license, SS Card IM SO FRICKIN MAD! Its not fair I don't understand why people steal , I worked my ass off for that cd player and now its gone . . .

Police came and dusted for prints but I doubt anything will turn up . .. As for me keeping my wallet in the car im not going to anymore I had it locked into the glove box but they broke the glove box open anyways . . . .Its not fair

The first of many reasons is for money.

The second most common reason people steals is obsession.

The third reason is just stupidity,

Call the major credit reporting agencies and ask to have a fraud alert put on your accounts.

The alert, which requires creditors to verify your identity before approving any new credit, is functional for 90 days and does not affect your credit score.

I recommend renewing your fraud alert every three months for four or five years if you just had credit cards in your wallet. But, if your Social Security card was in your wallet, I would continue the fraud alert indefinitely..

You need to call only one of the credit reporting agencies, and it will notify the other two. They are: Equifax, (800) 525-6285; Experian, (888) 397-3742; and TransUnion, (800) 680-7289.

Report a missing driver's license to the Department of Motor Vehicles.
